Kimeera
Kimeera's live performances have been said to give you the same feeling as
you get in the moments leading up to a thunder storm; you can feel the
tension building in the air, a great energy is about to be released and the
sense that when it breaks it will be full of power and beauty.
A bass melody is driven forward by pounding drums while the guitar switches
from gentle melody to a distorted wall of noise and back again. All of this
acts as the setting for Richard Owen's raw, angst ridden vocals which often
sound as if he's on the verge of a breakdown.
The Sheffield 3 piece have been playing together since 2001 and after a
string of incendiary performances gained a reputatio as an exciting
specticle. The sound has been compared to The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Joy
Division and Nirvana.
