Skankt
Some of SKANKt's first gigs were supporting ska legends Bad Manners, The Selecter and other two-tone revival bands in 1999. SKANKt started to move away from the traditional two-tone sound and experiment with elements of punk and flecks of hard funk, drum 'n' bass, Latin and post-bop jazz.
After recording their first full-length album “Off Beat Seduction” in the year 2000, SKANKt began to build up a national fan base by gigging up and down the UK . In 2003 they recorded ‘Perfect Timing', their second full-length album.
As gigging increased they found themselves plastered across independent magazines along with some well-known national ones. By the end of the year SKANKt had done a number of UK tours and found themselves better known and more in demand than ever.
They have made appearances on radio, featured on the BBC OneMusic website. Their music has been used on a number of compilations, and was recently used as a soundtrack on two mountain boarding videos. In 2004 SKANKt headlined Mountain Boarding championships. “SKANKt are undoubtedly one of the most infectious, electrifying bands in the UK .”
