Tramp Attack
It's been quite a busy few months for our Trampy lads since the release of their debut single 'Eight Years Since School' (all gone and sold out now). They've played shows with their mates The Coral, The Stands, The Bandits, The Zutons and the Hokum Clones (who says its an incestuous scene??), toured with Guided By Voices, and played a load of their own shows around the UK .
In the midst of all that, yet another single - 'Oh! When The Sun Goes Down' - was forced upon the world, and the Rough Trade Shop chose 'Eight Years Since School' to appear on the wonderful 'Counter Culture 2003' compilation album.
Entitled 'Attack! Attack!! Attack!!!', the album was recorded on a portable 8-track desk that the Tramps hastily assembled whilst squatting in The Bandits rehearsal room (vacated at the time, as its rightful owners were away recording their own debut album in some posh gaff in the country).
Luckily, the low-/no-budget approach fits the Tramp Attack sound perfectly, especially when married to the 'everything-in-the-red-all-the-time' production techniques of honourary 'sixth Tramp' (the 'fifth Tramp' being The Vanman. No prizes for guessing his role) Adam Hell of scouse lo-fi electronic legends Ambulance.
